Mo Kelly came on to the project to play Nana, Darla Pope’s (Mindy Roberson’s) mother showing everyone that family is family like it or not but one of the reasons why home life is so alluring when you’re overseas fighting in a war. Nana is a character who proves that there are no small roles in this town. The scenes with Nana show how important family is to not only a soldier but also those that are left behind. Remind a soldier that no matter where they are in the world, there is always someone thinking about them.
